2018 AFC Festival:

AFC's 2018 Festival will be held in Vancouver, BC August 22 - 25th, 2018 at the Vancouver Convention Centre - in partnership with the IOCongress and the inaugural Vancouver International Bird Week. We're expecting over 50 AFC artists to attend along with 2,000 scientists/ delegates and 25,000 public visitors. On August 20, a “bird” parade through downtown Vancouver will kick things off. Put the dates in your calendar and book your hotel early! Don't wait this is a truly special event with tourism, the city and many others supporting it.

We are the official partner for IOCongress and the Vancouver Bird Festival for 2018.

AFC is an international group of artists comprising some 500 of the world's most gifted nature and wildlife artists supporting the environment.​ 2018 will mark the 8th year of the AFC Festival in Vancouver.

The Festival features the world's top conservation-themed art exhibit with nearly 94 original artworks for sale with up to 40% of the proceeds supporting conservation, art expo, art demos, live performances, birds of prey, talks and more. AFC's 100-foot-long Silent Skies mural of 678 endangered birds by AFC artists and AFC's Silent Skies youth mural will be unveiled during the event. 

Many artists are traveling to attend the event. Public can meet artists, learn about wildlife conservation issues and directly support conservation work through the purchase of artwork.

Silent Skies Mural Project:

AFC artists from around the globe are collaborating to create a 100-ft super-mural featuring all 678 endangered species of bird, to be unveiled at the #AFCFestival2018 this August in Vancouver​. A limited number of canvas giclee editions of each will be available for sale both at the event and online.  

A student mural will also be unveiled at the event. 

Silent Skies initiative aims to raise funds and awareness for endangered bird species. Make sure you follow our hashtag #AFCbirdmural2018

World's Top Conservation-Themed Exhibit and Sale Returns to Vancouver's North Shore" - This October, Vancouver-based Artists for Conservation, a local nonprofit organization, is returning to the top of Grouse Mountain for the 2nd Annual Artists for Conservation Festival, which is being held from Saturday, October 13 through to Sunday, October 21.  Read more on page 66 

Jan 14, 2012 -  The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum (ASDM) will officially host AFC's touring exhibit comprising most of the artwork from the live exhibit at Grouse Mountain, in November, 2011. Nearly 70 artworks will go on display to the public through March 11, 2012. A special opening reception is planned on January 14, which will include a special screening of AFC's first documenary film - "How an Artist Saved the Mountain Gorilla". Read more

Nov 12, 2011 - AFC 2011 "Art of Conservation" Virtual-Exhibit Now Open. AFC's Annual Exhibit - The Art of Conservation - has become one of the most highly anticipated events among the nature-inspired art genres. With the close of the 2011 AFC Festival and live exhibit last Sunday, November 13, at Grouse Mountain, Vancouver, the entire collection of artwork is now available for viewing online in order to provide global access to some of the best works the nature-inspired art genre has to offer. Nov 9, 2011North Shore News - Bright Lights: Artists for Conservation Festival Gala -he Artists For Conservation Festival 2011 kicked off its 10-day-long run at the top of Grouse Mountain with a festival gala on the evening of Friday, Nov. 4. Keynote speaker, world-renowned artist Robert Bateman, was on hand to unveil his most recent painting while Coleen Christie, MC and CTV news anchor, hosted the evening. Sept 13, 2011 - CTV - Announcing Coleen Christie as Emcee for AFC Festival Gala November 4 at Grouse Mountain. Coleen Christie is the anchor of CTV News at Five and CTV News: Digital Edition (British Columbia). Since 1997, Coleen has reported on everything from community issues to major entertainment events. She cut her teeth anchoring the station's morning show. Since then, she has hosted three cycles of CTV's former national weekend morning show, Good Morning Canada, and fills in as host on CTV's Canada AM. Read more
